This super stylish film came out in 2015 but harks back to the unsettling, psychotic era of the 70s, in both style and content. You have Elizabeth Moss and Sienna Miller giving you opposite ends of the style spectrum while Luke Evans is all your 70s porn star dreams rolled into one, complete with a handle bar and sideburns.

Meanwhile High Rise itself recalls films from that time like The Shining, Rosemary’s Baby and Repulsion. Yes it’s all about moving into a futuristic, ideal, paradisiacal, self-sufficient tower block of flats only to find all is not as fabulous as it seems.

The film is totally insane while still stunningly beautiful. There’s an uncomfortable scene involving Sienna Miller and we weren’t too sure about Elizabeth Moss’ English accent but this is a modern classic and unmistakably crazy British.
