Loverboy has been big fans of the “elusive designer”, Sports Militia, from the first time we saw a pair of dirty Nikes converted into a even dirtier gimp mask. A rare thing of beauty. We’ve even worked with him once before, back on the slightly, and we use the term loosely, tamer ‘Stocking Fillers‘.
But when he ventured to our adopted home of Barcelona this summer, Circuit Week naturally, we knew we had to collaborate together again and this time make something super sleazy. Taking another look at the images below, we’d say goal most definitely accomplished. Scroll down to read more of our interview with Mr. S. Militia too…
How did you come up with the concept Sports Militia?
I was fucking this guy on a Grindr date, who mid-fuck bent over the bed and started sniffing my old trainers. That got me thinking, ‘Wouldn’t it be easier if he didn’t have to hold that trainer to his face?’ and the first mask was born. I showed it to a friend who said ‘Dude, that looks like some Future Sports Militia shit’ and suddenly the project had a name and direction.
Who inspired your first piece?
See above. Lol.
Who was it for?
I made the first mask imagining it on Francois Sagat.
Which brands do you favour?
I have no favourites! Now I only make pieces from donated old trainers. That way I get trainers I would never buy myself, which pushes me to create something different every time, as the donations are usually pretty fucking random.
You obviously recycle old items of clothing. Is any part of this ecological or strictly fetish?
Haha….nothing eco in it at all ! I love the fact the old trainers have already had a life, they have served their purpose and now I get to reimagine them as something completely different.
Who would you most like to dress?
I would love to (un)dress Francois Sagat and Rihanna.
Can you tell us how you came to work with Fischerspooner?
Casey and I had been chatting via Instagram about making looks for his show. We seemed to be coming from similar mindsets – the desire to fuck the norm. Lol. From those Insta DM chats the Top Brazil Vs Bottom London remix video was born.
Are you working with any other high profile people?
That would be telling 😉
At one point you were strictly commision-based only. Has this changed?
That has totally changed! Nothing is for sale….for now! But there will be a line available early in the new year. I’m also going to launch Sports Militia Only Fans soon. It’s gonna be a harder. Darker. Kinkier. No holds barred. A take on what I’ve been doing already. A definite must for hole-hungry tops and cock-hungry bottoms. XXX pics, videos and more…
Which piece are you proudest of?
I’m most proud of the collaboration I did with Christian Lacroix. It’s probably the most beautiful piece i’ve made to date.

Tell us about the Loverboy shoot. Who inspired it?
This shoot was way too much fun to do! Inspired by Katie Price and that one Russian glamour model working shapes at the water’s edge on every holiday I’ve been on! There’s always one and she’s always hot as fuck.
Can you tell us about the guys you shot?
As with all the guys I shoot, it’s a secret! I love how the masks bring out a different side to the models. Anonymous is powerful and let’s face it….HOT.
What was shooting on the beach like? Any funny stories?
We shot on the gay beach in Barcelona during Circuit Week. We did get a lot of attention which was kinda the point, I wanted the models to feel objectified and revel in it…which they did. The only downside to shooting on the beach was sand colonics we all had by the end of the day! Lol.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I’m Irish and have more tattoos than skin.
We are named after the iconic Mariah song. What kind of Sports Militia outfit would you put her in?
Mariah is a crotchless panties kinda girl for sure!
