Sex Education’s Dua Saleh returns with the cool and cautionary ‘pussy suicide‘ from their upcoming album, I Should Call Them, out 11th October via Ghostly.
The track’s loping production might have you thinking we’re going in for a seductive slow jam but Dua is here to warn us about toxic behaviour and how it never disappears completely.
“Sometimes people won’t admit that they’re toxic. This is a song about being with somebody who was previously toxic that makes you question their actions. When you stay with this person, you’re feeding the fire because you feel uncomfortable with the dynamics. I was trying to not pursue those feelings, but had difficulty moving on. Eventually, I learned to have more respect for myself.”
Check out ‘pussy suicide’ below along with their previously released singles from the upcoming I Should Call Them. Shout out to the gorgeous ‘unruly’ with serpentwithfeet. The album also features production from Stint (Carly Rae Jepson, Kesha). Catch the ‘pussy suicide’ video on YouTube now too.
