Our favourite festival, Barcelona’s Primavera Sound just announced their 2025 line up, and not since the inaugural ‘New Normal’ in 2019 have the homosexuals been so well fed.

Headlining the festival next June are three of the biggest females in pop right now – the holy trinity powerpuff pop girls saving the world, Charli XCX, Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter. Charli’s pop-up playback preview of Brat on Barceloneta Beach was our ‘24 highlight. So could she officially close out Brat Summer at Primavera ‘25?! And Chappell has been selling out shows all over the EU & US and she’s only just getting started. Could she even release her next album before next June?!

Away from the headliners there’s lots to see too. For Queer representation there’s the always-moving ANOHNI, the Footwork/Hardcore of Sherelle and she is the moment, Horsegirl. Loverboy’s own personal ones-to-watch are the Industrial duo Dame Area, the Welsh ethereal club queen, Kelly Lee Owens and a blissed out jazzy interlude from Clairo. But the festival is eight months away still, a lot of time to do our homework and thoroughly research the full line up of just under 150 names…
