So Mr Pabllo De Lá Cruz, tell us a little about what you do?
At the moment I’m focusing on my hats and also textile designing.
What was the first piece of art you created. Can you remember?
I think it was a watercolour painting I made when I was 6 years old with. My parents were very impressed. I’d painted it in my Dad’s studio. He was a great artist himself and I think all my artistic influences started with him. My hero!
Did you start out with costumes?
Yes, I remember being really young and I loved playing dress up with my action toys lol. When I was older I became part of a theatre group and started exploring my interest in costume. Later I worked for many theatre companies, making costumes and also designing sets.
Why did you decide move to London?
My younger brother came here first to study. After spending time with him during a Summer break I decided to move here. I just fell in love with it.
We love your prints. Are they based on specific people?
My prints, yes I continue painting and drawing. I just love it and even before I started any of my collections, the drawings and sketches are one of my favorite parts of the process. I love portraits, and I think my friends and the people around me are really inspiring me and my prints. Especially sexy guys lol…
You have some serious style going on. What is your favourite outfit?
I have a very eclectic style. I like everything… At the moment I’m absolutely crazy for a Versace kilt I bought. I love it. It feels so comfortable and sexy.
What’s the most expensive item in your wardrobe?
A Le Boy CHANEL bag that I bought myself when I hit 30. I was lucky enough to get it when it was first launched. It costs much more now. I love it so much, it always been a dream to have my own CHANEL lol…
So what about 2017?
I’m working very hard to have my hats stocked in more shops. Also I will be launching a collection of scarfs with my prints, that’s exciting. And hopefully do few more collaboration too.
And finally, your favorite Mariah song is…
‘We belong together!!’
