Someone who has always been consistently reliable for a House Rap anthem is NYC’s Cakes Da Killa, who just announced his new fifteen-track LP.
Dropping on 28th October via Young Art Records, Cakes’ second full length album, Svengali, is preceded by singles, ‘Drugs Du Jour’, ‘Sip of my Sip’ and the title track which came out last Friday. The song, ‘Svengali’ sees Cakes comes in with the line ‘Something about this man I can’t take…’ accompanied by a bouncing beat before telling us to ‘Touch me. Feel me.’ Literal fire.
According to Cakes, while previous releases have been straight up House affairs, Svengali looks to explore more Jazz vibes while looking at the various stages of a love affair, from hookup to breakup.
Pre-order the album now via Bandcamp or stream the single, ‘Svengali’ here.
