NEW: Babymorocco – Amour

If you just lived your best brat summer then pull on your Bikini & Trackie for a bangin’ Babymorocco winter. Pop really has been dominated by the girlies in 2024, but this week London’s rudeboi Babymorocco just threw his Hyperpop hat into the ring with Amour.

Like Charli’s concept for a Y2k, messy, Ed Hardy-dressed brat, Babymorocco has created her hyper-horny younger bro. The sixteen tracks take us back to our beloved electroclash era and cover being hot, homosexuelle and getting hazy in the club. Working with producers Frost Children on the album, the duo explain, ‘the 3 of us all spent a week in London with the intention of making the most sxc music possible.’ Babymorocco even worked with UK pop royalty Xenomania on the track ‘No Cameo’. ‘That was a big deal for me,’ he told Loverboy last month.

Behind the persona is an artist that studied at Central St Martins and famously performed ‘Art School Stole My Virginity’. So naturally as well as songs that slap, the concept artist has a clear narrative. ‘Amour is a fast-paced, 16-track journey into living and becoming Babymorocco. It’s a story of transformation as I leave London and reunite in Paris with Jean Paul—the love of my life and a part of myself that I had lost. This course proves the adage: you can take the party boy out of London, but you can’t take the London out of the party boy.’

Amour is out now via True Panther Records. Available to stream and on CD.
Babymorocco plays London headline show at Omeara on 15th February 2025. Tickets here
