Last weekend Madonna celebrated her birthday and although sadly we could not ‘dance and sing’ or even ‘get up and do our thing’ with M herself, we got down to some of her greatest hits at home instead. While we are wanting, waiting, needing new music from La Reina Bonita, something equally erotic has entered our lives – our favourite label Italians Do It Better have just released their tribute album with nineteen of their artists recording covers of their #1 Madonna track, all produced by Johnny Jewel, oh father!

The album, titled Italians Do It Better, features twenty tracks by nineteen artists recorded over ten countries…and most importantly every song slaps! Covering one of the most iconique artists is no easy feat, but the Italians Do It Better collective give the tracks their own unique spin, that always keeps us burning up. The album features our loves Glüme & Desire delivering the drama with ‘Material Girl’ and ‘Angel’ respectively with a special shout out to Jorja Chalmers‘ ‘Justify My Love’ which gives the track a more androgynous vocal and a Moodymann tribal drum.
