Loverboy has been wanting to collaborate with the Woolman Family for a long time and what better time than when our model, Ernesto Aguilar, has a huge pimple on his face? We hooked up with Nacho Juarez to take the photos and then talked with Ernesto about his life in Barcelona and yes, his favourite Mariah Carey song.
I am system technician. I studied in La Habana – Cuba.What is your favourite thing about Barcelona?
The beach. The city is bike friendly and I love biking by the port of Barcelona. I do it everyday.What did you think when you first saw photos of the woolman family?
I said, ‘OMG! This is so freaky, freaky-good, and fashionable at the same time.’ At first, I thought it was kind of a joke, but then I realised it’s art and very stylish. They have a really good taste and the way they interact with people is so professional. If they’re involved somehow, any photoshoot will end up being great.
Why did you want to work with them?
I think they are trendy or they are about to be. Soon everybody will want to shoot with them, collaborations, etc.
How was the experience?
Nacho Juárez, the photographer, contacted me the night before. I agreed to do the shooting, but I had no time to contact the woolman family and talk about their point of view or what they expected. So I went there the next morning, and there was something disturbing me, I told Nacho to focus on any part of my body but my face, because I had a big pimple on my cheek. And they said, ‘Don’t you worry about that, ’cause you’ll be wearing a mask all the time.’ LOL
What’s your favourite Mariah Carey song?
“My All” definitely. Amazing vocals skills, the low tones are so perfectly done. This song reminds me of my childhood in Cuba, my friends from school.
