If ever you need encouragement to get back to your nearest theatre, then here is a good reason – the super handsome and talented Brad Gibson. He’s already starred as Simba in the Lion King on Broadway, but he’s also been in Chicago and Rocky.
But while we wait to catch him back onstage, we are being blessed with his new track ‘Fool’ and its music video. Having emerged from a painful breakup, Brad turned the trauma into art, “It’s the type of song that rhythmically makes you want to vibe out and groove, but lyrically makes you evaluate your own heart,” he explains.
The accompanying video is equally stunning. “Through these beautiful Black bodies we see how powerful and organic human connection can be, that masculinity can not be defined, how important Black lives are, and how these lives should be handled with care because they come with such a painful history,” Brad says.
“I also wanted to show solidarity and the importance of community. So many people feel alone when it comes to dealing with acceptance, healing, or mental health. I wanted to show people that no one is ever truly alone and that there is always someone willing to lift you up and stand with you.”
