We interviewed Anthony Varrecchia back in August last year when he was just ‘in demand’. Cut to another eight months down the line and he’s gone stratospheric. This year looks set to be even bigger as he continues to prove that you can be over fifty, have body most guys would kill for and snatch those modelling deals.

He worked with the super talented KIKO Dionisio on this shoot, entitled ‘BEAST’, and here it is as a complete exclusive. Read our interviews with Anthony and KIKO further down.

Why do you work under an alias?
KIKO is my nickname, my mother gave it to me. My real name was always used to punish me when I did something wrong.

Which magazines did you grow up reading?
My mother bought all these shitty German tabloid magazines, so I read them. I literally grew up with Lady Di.

Who would you most like to shoot and for whom?
Justin Trudeau. He is the new kid in town. I would love to work for Interview, W…and Loverboy 🙂

Nice save….What was the inspiration behind the BEAST shoot?
Anthony.  He is a force of nature!

Why did you want to work with Anthony?
I already had worked with him and the whole ‘Beast’ story was inspired by him.

What was it like on set?
It was funny and cold, because it was in February. We took the photos close to the forest of Anthony`s house in the countryside of New York

There’s a lot of talk over diversity in models at the moment from trans, to plus size, to over 50s…is that important to you? What are your thoughts on it?
What’s important to me is the connection I see in someone’s eyes.  This transcends age, sexuality, body type. I’m happy and excited about the current diversity in the industry and excited to see what’s next.

What’s next for you?
I’m working on my first book. This will be a collection of my current work that many have seen on Instagram. Hopefully it will be done be the end of the year.

What is your favourite Mariah Carey song?
I’m a MADONNA fan, so I need a Moment…

What else do you have lined up for 2016? 
More work as a model. I belong to a few agencies. With hard work and the continuous need to learn and grow, I dream of a contract! You need to think big. I’ve learned so much in the past year. Work in progress…

Which photographer are you busting to work with?
Well, I’ve been fortunate to work with Kiko. He’s such a great guy and we get along so well plus he had taught me so much. He can tell me to get naked for a photo and i’ll strip down for him in a second. 
That’s a friggin’ hard question to answer because that list could take up the whole article BUT…. my Mom always taught me to think big..so, here it goes! David LaChapelle, Bruce Weber, Steven Meisel, Josh Olins, Mike Ruiz to name a few and my list goes on & on & on…

We know you love Donna Summer. BUT what IS your favourite Mariah song?
Michael…. This question again! Don’t get me wrong, I do like Mariah – I can’t remember her last name. (THE SHAAAAADE!) When she remakes a Donna Summer song. That will be my favorite Mariah track. I know it’ll be a hit!

OK but listen Anthony, I know you love disco, so you really need to hear the Sweet Dub Mix of Mariah’s ‘Fantasy’!
Now I understand completely! The song that gets me is ‘Emotions’ which mixes Disco’s The Emotions. I have and always will be a ‘Disco Bunny’! David Hodo of The Village People, who I became friends with through my husband Nick named me that! LOL. And can you believe I’m actually friends with him? He was one of my idols growing up and now we’re friends!
