Last time Loverboy spoke with the most excellent Jessy Lanza, she told us she was on the eternal quest to write the perfect R & B song. Although perfection may be overrated we are very happy Jessy is continuing on this journey and continuing to produce excellent material, like new single ‘Limbo.’
The track features production by herself, Tensnake & David Kennedy and sees Jessy wondering whether to leave her lover or hang around – much like her neighbour, Conrad, who spends the video strapped to an Inversion board. Jessy & Conrad really said, ‘Wait, Pride month isn’t over yet!’
The track is taken from Jessy’s upcoming album, Love Hallucination, which drops 28th July via Hyperdub. Recorded after her move to Los Angeles, it sees Jessy in a brighter, poppier mood, despite having a near-death experience upon arrival.
Catch Jessy at Pitchfork Festival London in November and at Apolo, Barcelona, this December.
