Someone told us off the other day. They said that although the men we feature on Love Is… are hot as hell, there’s not much diversity going on. The truth is we have approached guys of other shapes and sizes but none of them want the spotlight. But today we’re trying something a little different, a silver foxxx. Step forward Mr Anthony Varrecchia.
So, Anthony, what did you last cry about?
My late husband.
Oh. We’re sorry, we didn’t know.
It was so traumatic that after many years after his passing still affects me today. We had a civil union in 2002 followed by a wedding reception. In 2008 just two weeks after our marriage in Canada. The accident turned my life upside down. I believed it was impossible to love again. In time I found that I could love again.
All that grey hair and muscles, it’s an unusual combination. Do you ever feel fetishised?
Nah…I wear my look with fuckin’ pride, man! I’ve always been one to stand out from the rest. I have my own style and look. I get many complements which are very humbling. You can be a person of a certain age and still be fabulous! From Facebook to Instagram I receive messages that I’m an inspiration! Do you know how that feels? I think to myself – wow! I’m just me! A simple nice guy from Staten Island.
You have a ‘portfolio career’, like us. What other mediums do you want to conquer?
Hmmm, conquer? Just striving to be better and continue to grow in terms of career, new and interesting people entering my life to new challenges. The modeling came as a surprise. Totally unexpected so I’m going with the flow and see where it leads… hopfully $$, travel and who know! To immerse myself into the fitness world even more. It saved my life after my husband died.
Who are your style icons?
There are many but who first comes to mind are Tom Ford and Tony Ward. Jesus…these guys are fuckin’ amazing! From attitude to style and look. I’d love to meet them one day – in my mind I already have!
What do you never leave the house without?
My moisturizer! How do you think I look so good at 52! LOL…seriously – My Rolex watch and ring my late husband gave me. These are my two material possessions that mean the most to me. They give me that connection I need. A reminder of how I’ve grown. On a plus side, they look great with any outfit!
What song never fails to make you feel slutty?
Nasty girls by Vanity 6. “…I need 7” and more…” ! Love it!
What was the last picture of yours that got reported for nudity?
Not one! Not that there aren’t any out there….
What is your favorite Mariah Carey song?
Mariah Who??? Gurl… I’m strictly a Donna Summer guy! Now that’s a star! So many iconic songs. In my opinion…no one tops her.
